Couple of days ago, I was given a Xerox copy of a National Geographic article titled: Swarm Theory | Ants, bees, and birds teach us how to cope with a complex world by Peter Miller; and whoa, it took me like a storm. Basically, it was so connected to my job, my thoughts; my ideas of where we (humanity) are heading and how can we get there faster, that I could not believe it.

After a couple of days I was handed a copy (by my boss and CEO, isn’t that positively great) of a book titled: Complexity | The emerging science at the edge of Order and Chaos. And that did it for me; I knew that I needed to get myself involved in this somehow. Now, since I am not a scientist, I resorted to the next best (arguably) contribution effort, blogging (later on my passions for Web 2.0). Funny enough, it seems that this theory best explains the value of community based collaboration (the basis of Web 2.0), as Sean describes in his post “Did Charles Darwin launch Web 2.0…”.

Having never written a blog myself, which is, I admit, unforgivable in my line of business (I run an e-commerce/online marketing department for my company), I thought this was it; if there was ever a time to start contributing to a world that I love, the online world, this was it. So, this blog is started so that I can track my own progress in finding out more about Complexity and its applications, connections and benefits to the world we live in. Hopefully, it will someday provide a resource to somebody else getting into it.
